Average Ring Size
Average women's ring size is usually US 6 to 7. Average men's ring size is usually US 9 to 10. Treat averages as a backup, not a measurement.
Women
US 6-7
About 16.5-17.3 mm inside diameter.
Men
US 9-10
About 19.0-19.8 mm inside diameter.
Are men's and women's ring sizes the same?
Yes. Ring size systems are unisex, so a US 7 is the exact same physical size whether a man or a woman wears it. There is no separate men's or women's scale, only the same millimeter measurement labeled the same way. Sizes differ only on average, because men's fingers tend to be larger: women commonly land around US 6 to 7 (about 16.5 to 17.3 mm inside diameter) and men around US 9 to 10 (about 19.0 to 19.8 mm).
Use averages only when you cannot measure.
Finger size changes by hand, finger, temperature, time of day, and band width.
